Please donate . . .
The hard costs of running our programs can seem daunting. Our biggest expense is the care and feeding of our horses, and the purchase of tack suitable for our clients. The costs for feed, veterinary care, and farrier services can mount up quickly.
Since everyone at Cadence is a volunteer, there is no payroll in our overhead costs. And because our clients are always our primary focus, we do not turn someone in need away. However, the care of our horses is always a major expense. There are many ways you can support our Mission.
In-kind donations
Of course, financial donations are always welcome. In kind-donations, that is, goods and/or services in lieu of cash donations, help to reduce our out-of-pocket expenses which, in turn, helps us direct our financial resources directly to our clients. For instance, donations of hay and tack, rider helmets and boots, as well as donated time as a wrangler/ranch-hand, or the professional services of physical therapists/personal trainers, also allow us to make the equine-assisted experience a successful one for our clients.

Sponsor a Rider
Some of our clients come from low-income families that may not have the resources to pay for participation in our programs, despite our relatively low fee structure. This may be a result of other healthcare-related expenses having a tragic impact on that family’s income.
Though we will not turn these clients away for a lack of money, a great way to donate directly is to support a rider with a sponsorship donation by the month, the season, or throughout a calendar year. Sponsoring a rider goes a long way towards improving the life of a child or adult, while also allowing the Cadence leadership team to invest in more equipment and horses that will benefit all of our clients.
Sponsor a Horses for Heroes Client
Our returning veterans and their families needing equine-assisted therapy may not be covered by the Veterans Administration’s healthcare and family-assistance system. Therefore by sponsoring a Horses for Heroes client, you will not only be helping that veteran and his/her family return to a normal life, you will be expressing your appreciation to someone who selflessly served us in high-risk combat zones including Iraq, Afghanistan, the first Gulf War and Vietnam. You can thank these men, women and their families with your support.
In too many cases our reservists, those citizen soldiers, have lost nearly everything dear to them because of extended tours of duty. Their wounds may extend far beyond the physical. They may have lost their families, their jobs and careers while bravely serving their country in multiple tours. Their divorce rate is around 70% because of extended absence from home and family. Equine-assisted therapy is a proven methodology for healing their emotional and physical wounds. Ask us about how you can return the favor of their dedicated service to us.
